On the personal side ~~ Jenna moved out this way as well and eventually pursued a new career for herself. She was recently promoted to Chief Deputy of the Federal Court in Sacramento, and I am very proud of her.
Additionally, I am so pleased that she and her family live very close by in Roseville, especially because now I have four beautiful and wonderful grandchildren who I adore seeing often.
Besides loving the real estate business, I truly love my life here in Lincoln Hills. I still enjoy long-time friendships of people in the East Bay, but my life in Lincoln has been blessed with the addition of many, many new and wonderful friends. Lincoln Hills has proved to be an outstanding place to live, abound with activities that keep growing and improving, a gorgeous setting to enjoy, and fantastic people to enjoy it with.
I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and began my working years at Strategic Air Command Headquarters and moved to California when I was 20. My first job in CA was at Lockheed Missiles & Space Center in Sunnyvale as Assistant to the Director of the Microelectronics Division. That’s when silicon chips were new and I was seated right next to the Space Shuttle Division – a very fun time. We lived in Palo Alto and I moved on to Ampex Corporation in Redwood City as Personal Assistant to the Founder and Chairman Emeritus. Then I learned about commuting and worked in San Francisco with Boyden international executive recruiters and finally with Bryan & Edwards, independent entrepreneurs.
We raised our family in Lafayette and Pleasant Hill, in the East Bay during which time I owned my own computer outsource business. When that industry had a downturn, I turned back to my legal experience and worked at Chevron Texaco in San Ramon as a Litigation Analyst in the international law group. I truly grew into being a Realtor through my work experiences. Some of the skills I honed are negotiation skills, managing people and projects, task and timeline organization, communicating clearly with people, analyzing data and working with attorneys. I love being a Realtor!
We moved to Lincoln in 2004, my first year as a Realtor, and I have been a Top Producer since 2005! I am now an Outstanding Lifetime Member of the Placer County Association of Realtors’ Master’s Club. This is a distinction of being in the top 10 to 15% of Realtors in the County. I know that my independent work experience along with the legal experience I had helped prepare me for my current career – my Favorite of all! My daughter, Jenna, really gets the credit for that. At one time she was a Realtor in Walnut Creek and insisted I consider this wonderful career when we made the move. I am so glad I listened to her!
Another wonderful stroke of luck is that my son-in-law, Erik Nelson, who has an accomplished professional background himself, recently decided to join me as my Partner. I am so fortunate! McGrail Team always had a bank of accomplished people supporting me, but now the Team has Two Realtors to better serve our clients!! Go, Team!!
